Errol Morris Spends Six Minutes On Dealey Plaza’s Umbrella Man
Today marks the forty-eighth anniversary of the John Kennedy Assassination™, and in honor of the occasion the NY Times has thrown up a six minute exploration of the tragedy’s shadowy “Umbrella Man” figure by pulp documentary legend Errol Morris. Who was this oddly miscast individual yielding a black umbrella on such a bright Texas day? Could his seemingly innocuous implement have hidden something sinister? Morris tackles the whole she-bang with his usual flair in less time than it takes for the bus (although, to be fair, you’ll learn just a smidge more skimming Umbrella Man’s Wikipedia entry). This brief dose of historical weird gets my vote for most interesting thing on the Internet today.
