Honoring America With A Barbie Superstar Microphone

A lot of crazy crap happened at Super Bowl XLVI. Rush Limbaugh picked his nose, M.I.A. flipped the bird, Aaron Hernandez made it rain, Ahmad Bradshaw showboated the living fuck out of the final Giants touchdown, Al Michaels pronounced everything on the play-by-play like a third tier Adam Sandler character, and Tom Brady forgot his job is to catch the ball as well as throw it.

For me, though, the most captivating part of Super Bowl XLVI was the awesome glittery pink microphone Miranda Lambert used to sing “God Bless America” during the pre-game show. The photo here really does the instrument no justice. Seeing it live on an HD TV screen brought a tear to my eye and a swelling of pride to my chest. It even matched her lip gloss!
