A Poem About My Clogged Ear
Clogged right ear
you are making it hard
to concentrate
to listen to rockin’ tunes
to feel
All I can do
is sit on this porch
and eat
Ohs
(the breakfast cereal)
by the finger-full
staring into space
wondering
How did I solve this clog last time?
I didn’t
it just cleared up one day
it was Fourth of July
2011
let freedom ring
Speak up, America
everything sounds like a mumble
so what I say is a grumble
in the general direction
of this ear
